Program clues

Brown's cryptic post is the kind of thing that can eat an evening if you enjoy pulling threads. It moves through propulsion, Sirius, 1947, Navy facilities and an unfamiliar name. Michels does the sensible thing and asks him to explain it, piece by piece. A few answers are more direct than the post's reputation for mystery might suggest.

Brown identifies Sirius as a star and a program name, says the propulsion he is pointing toward is electromagnetic or electrogravitic, and treats a reference to nonstructured light energy craft as a specific term. He does not supply the machinery that would let us turn those remarks into an explanation. But they are different kinds of leads: a name to investigate, a claimed approach, and terminology whose meaning remains unclear.

Then the conversation reaches Aborymon. Brown describes it as an Enochian angel associated with John Dee's cryptographic and scrying system. Asked why it appears in his post, he says he is pointing toward a long history of nonhuman intervention. That doesn't establish such a history. It does tell us why he put that particular reference there. We don't have to invent an unrelated occult explanation for a clue he actually discusses.

That combination is what hooks me. A star, a claimed technology program and an Elizabethan occult reference are sitting in the same post. Is Brown pointing to connections between them, or to several different parts of a history he thinks we've misunderstood? MMTU stays withheld, so there is still a gap right where curiosity wants a bridge. I'm not going to pretend the bridge is there. I do want to know why he chose those particular things to put on either side.

The old reference changes the mood of the post for me. I started with a question about secret hardware and ended up wondering how people in very different centuries might describe an encounter they couldn't explain. Brown believes a long history connects those questions. He hasn't established that connection here, but it's a much more interesting invitation than simply telling us there's another classified airplane. The unanswered part is allowed to stay unanswered while we think about what he is asking us to notice.
