The Navy and the Historical File

Four takes on why the Navy keeps turning up: the ships that might be the story, a nuclear site that attracts more than one kind of attention, the wider picture somebody may already have, and the Navy's habit of appearing.

Release 06 put a Navy photographer's 1952 film back on an official index. Brown had already been asking why the Navy keeps appearing, and whether the ships in a briefing were the real story. This trail stays with those takes. It does not treat Tremonton as proof of his briefings. It treats the official restamp as the reason to walk the Navy-and-records question again, including the possibility that somebody already has the wider picture.

The labels do one job: they tell you whether a connection is in the source record, is the same account turning up twice, is my grouping, or is my guess. None of them turns two takes into proof of each other.
